Job Description Summary: What you need to know about the role The role is for building next generation capabilities while maintaining existing services. The candidate should have the technical expertise to lead software and architecture discussions and guide cross-functional product and engineering teams through functional definition, solution, and integration stages at scale Meet our team Data Services and Caching group team is responsible for providing the Data access capabilities for PayPal developers. We design, develop, enhance components that get called across every interaction between PayPal components and datastores. Our solutions need to scale across billions of such interactions, working with petabyte plus data and yet providing high availability and resiliency. Job Description: Your way to impact • Ownership and strive for excellence in your role • Own implementation of a module/application/product • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a team to define, design, implement, test, release rollout, and support software applications for PayPal. • Identify and develop solutions to enhance the scalability, high availability, and reliability of datastores utilized within PayPal. Your day to day • Participate in complex architectural discussions that involve multiple systems· • Identify any product/functionality gaps and collaborate internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery. • Drive integration efforts and lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives sponsored by senior executives· • Drive engineering excellency by creating reusable, production-ready frameworks· Challenge the status quo when needed. • Drive engineering excellency through CI/CD/automation· • Pro-active response in identifying and troubleshooting integration or technical issues. • Ability to reduce tech debt and have a plan to remove them from the system. What Do You Need To Bring • BE in Computer Science or Engineering and 4+ years related industry experience in Golang & Java • Highly analytical, innovative, and able to think strategically and to develop comprehensive detailed specifications. • Excellent verbal and writing skills; ability to produce clear, concise communications and documentation. • Highly effective at working in cross-functional groups and getting results in matrix organisation. • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on concurrent assignments with different priorities • Hands on experience in • Golang & Java programming in Linux/Unix environment • Software design and development methodologies, including Agile methods • Database design and optimisation.
