We are looking to recruit a .NET developer to join our Digital Workplace Services’ Automation Team. This a Scrum team which writes bespoke business-orientated software for Pearson. It exists to reduce repetitive manual effort through the delivery of custom software automation solutions. The main product you would be working on is a set of .NET applications (primarily console applications), with a SQL server backend, dedicated to assisting Pearson’s employee onboarding and offboarding process. For example, creating user accounts in Active Directory, automation of access management and security operations. The team has daily stand ups, follows agile principles and has a strong focus on DevOps, engineering best practices, incremental delivery, continuous integration and test-driven development. Although the role will be focused on internal Pearson applications, it is an excellent opportunity for the candidate to grow their .NET expertise and there would be the potential to move into other teams that support Pearson educational products in the future. We are able to support hybrid and remote working models. The role is primarily working India hours, but coverage of UK hours may occasionally be required, particularly to cover UK bank holidays etc... · Minimum four (4) years of experience in software engineering. · Bachelor’s degree in Computing, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent. · The desire to learn and continuously improve on the product quality, performance and other non-functional requirements. · Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact with prompt and professionalism to the teams across multiple geographies and time zones. · Strong technical skills and hands-on experience in .NET and related tools & technologies including server-side and RDBMS technologies. · Experience and knowledge on OOP, Analysis & Design, Architectural & Design Patterns and Unit Testing. · Experience in Agile software development practices such as SCRUM & TDD / ATDD. · Basic experience or knowledge on building, packaging & deployment tools, web & application servers and database technologies. · Provision of in-depth technical skills to fix ad-hoc incidents/problems, mentoring and support DevOps teams to ensure best practice. · Hands on experience with the following technologies: C# .NET, MSSQL Server & other Database Technologies, Unit testing & Test Automation frameworks (eg:- NUnit).
